A guide for first-time visitors
We know that coming along for the first time can feel daunting – especially to a space where faith and identity intersect. We want you to know that you are welcome exactly as you are, with whatever questions, doubts, or story you are carrying. There is no pressure to have it all figured out.
We have two regular events a month which is Mass & Morning Tea and Rainbow Reflections. We have additional once-off events throughout the year which may be advertised only between members or for the broader community. You can view our advertised events list here.
We are committed to keeping this a safe and welcoming space for everyone. You can read our Code of Conduct here.
Mass & Morning Tea
First Sunday of the month — South Perth — Free
How the morning unfolds
Morning tea runs from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and is the heart of this gathering for our community. It is relaxed, informal, and drop-in – come any time, stay as long as you like. There is no agenda, just good conversation, a warm cuppa, and the company of people who understand what it is to hold faith and identity together.
At 11:30 AM, Mass begins and runs until approximately 12:15 PM. It takes place within a small, intimate religious community whose warmth and hospitality our group has been blessed to share. It is a quiet, contemplative experience – traditional in form and genuinely welcoming in spirit.
Do I have to stay for Mass (Church Service)?
Not at all. You are welcome to come for morning tea and leave before Mass begins. Many people do, especially on a first visit – we know it can take time to feel ready to step into a church space. If you do choose to stay, you will find a simple, unhurried liturgy in a cosy chapel, where you are welcome exactly as you are.
For those who join us for Mass, this is not a “Gay Mass” in the sense of being separate from the wider Church – it is our community gathering to worship together in a space where we know we are fully welcomed and affirmed. We are part of this faith community, and this is where we belong.
Do I need to be Catholic, or Christian, or have it all worked out?
No. Our community includes people at all stages of faith – some devout, some questioning, some healing from difficult religious experiences. You do not need to tick any boxes to be welcome here.

How the evening unfolds
Rainbow Reflections runs from 6:00 PM to around 8:30–9:00 PM and is held in a warm, comfortable private space in Victoria Park. The evening has a natural flow – it begins with shared food and conversation, moves into a talk or reflection, and closes with a simple time of prayer.
Dinner together (6:00 PM or when most people arrive)
We begin with gourmet pizza and garlic bread – included in your ticket – which gives everyone a chance to settle in, meet people, and have a genuine conversation before the evening proper begins. There is no pressure to know anyone or have something to say.
When you register, you can let us know of any dietary requirements and we will make sure there is something suitable for you.
Prefer to bring your own meal? That is completely fine – just bring it along.
You are also welcome to skip the meal and come only for the talk, but please register in advance so we know to expect you and you do not miss the start.

How we open
We go around the table so everyone can introduce themselves and respond to a short opening question – something like what you are grateful for this week. It is warm and low-key, and there’s no pressure to say anything elaborate. A simple “I’m glad to be here” is always enough.
The talk or reflection
Each month we hear from a member of our community or a guest speaker on a topic that connects faith and life. This might be the story of a saint, a reflection on a passage of Scripture, or something drawn from our shared experience as an LGBT Christian community. It is thoughtful and unhurried, designed to encourage learning and conversation.
How we close
We close with a short time of prayer where we are invited to offer up whatever we would like to leave with God. Sharing is always optional and entirely on your own terms – there is no obligation to share out loud and nobody will be put on the spot.
Do I need to be Christian to join?
You are welcome whether you are a committed Christian, somewhere on the way, or simply curious. Our community holds a range of backgrounds and stages of faith and everyone is welcome at the table.
